The DR-11 occurrence is located south of Great Central Lake, approximately 3 kilometres northwest of Doran Lake.

The area is underlain by massive basalt of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group) intruded by Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite quartz diorite.

Locally, silicified andesites hosts quartz veins with disseminated pyrite. In 1988, a sample (88-DR-11) of vein material assayed 4.67 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18591).

In 1984, mineralized float was discovered in local creek beds and later in the same year, Royalon Petroleum completed a limited exploration program, including the blasting of three trenches on the nearby Central (MINFILE 092F 391) occurrence. In 1986 and 1987, Murjoh Resources completed programs of geological mapping and rock sampling on the Central 1-2 claims. In 1988, Trove Resources completed a program of rock sampling and prospecting.
